Marteney, Margaret, homemaker, died June 16, 2009. She was born in Oklahoma
City, Okla., November 8, 1932, to Paul J. and Helen Neuman. She moved to
Wichita as a child and attended Wichita schools, graduating from North High
School in 1950. She attended Wichita State University and Oregon State
University, and was a member of Tri Delta Sorority and belonged to Lambda Tau
Delta Sorority for 30 years. Margaret married David Marteney in 1953. She was
a 50-year member of Plymouth Congregational Church, and the Fifty-Year Club
at Wichita State University. She was preceded in death by her parents;
brother, Philip Neuman, and infant daughter, Melissa. She is survived by her
husband, David; son, John D. Marteney; daughter, Melinda Cook; grandchildren,
Chelsey, Carly and Colton Cook of Wichita; great-grandson, Baron Cook;
sister-in-law, Beverly Neuman of Spring, Texas. Visitation Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.
at Old Mission Mortuary, Funeral Service Monday 2 p.m. at Plymouth
Congregational Church with reception following. Private family burial will be
