Betty loves her flowers and quilting. During the winter when she can't be outdoors
digging in her flower bed, she spends most of her time working on quilts and playing on her computer.
Last winter she finished about ten of them and gave almost all of them away.
One quilt she is pretty proud of is hanging on the wall of our basement
playroom. It's shown at left and has pictures of almost all of our family.

This is intended to show some of the fine stitching required. Click on the picture and
look in the lower right corner.
Here is a picture of her "Bear and wolf" quilt. The picture leaves a lot to be desired (my photography
and scanning leave a lot to be desired).
How about a quilt on the quilt machine?
During the October Fest at Dodge City in 1998, we went to Dodge for a few drinks
and some time with Betty's friend Shirley. Here is a picture of Shirley and her sisters.
This is a picture of four of her quilts that she finshed last winter. Again, the
picture is not a good representation of the beauty of the quilts. Sorry about that.
When she's not working on her quilts or out in the yard with her flowers, she
might be found working on her computer. Working may not be the right word for
it - she spends a lot of time playing Freecell. Click for a bigger picture
of Betty playing freecell.
This is Betty with one really big flower she grew - something about
more blooms on one stem than normal. The whole yard was like one big
flower bed last spring. Well that just makes less lawn for me to mow.
